Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Should agents call RT HEALTH & LIFE rather than the home office?
A. RT Health & Life has representatives who are proficient and knowledgeable in the procedures and policies of the Home Office. They have extensive experience working with all departments and have the capability for quick problem solving. We provide an 800 number for your convenience, and our representatives return your call in the same business day and many times will have your answer within 24 hours. Because we are the top General Agent in Colorado, we are committed to providing excellent service and quick resolution to your problem.
Q. What can agents do to help the Underwriting process?
A. The underwriting process begins with the application. The agent best assists the underwriter by fully and accurately completing the application. This involves including details regarding conditions, supplying the full address and phone numbers for doctors, and including the best time the applicant may be reached for a telephone interview. Agents should continue with follow-up on the application by calling for status through RT Health & Life or the World Insurance website at www.worldsells.com.
Q. How does an applicant appeal an underwriting decision?
A. All underwriting appeals must be in writing from the applicant. Any supporting documentation (additional medical information, information the underwriter did not have access to) should be provided with the request. Because the explanation may contain medical terminology the applicant may not understand, the applicant needs to include their doctors name and address in the request as the response will be sent to the doctor for interpretation.
Q. What are the advantages of the World/MidAmerica PPO Plans and the Indemnity Plans?
A. The decision to purchase a PPO plan or an Indemnity plan should be based on the needs of the applicant. The PPO plan is a managed care plan that utilizes the Sloans Lake Network. The major advantage is that medical fees have already been negotiated with the doctor. However, the policyowner is required to see only contracted doctors for medical care. The Indemnity plan offers the flexibility of seeing any doctor. This plan is a good option for applicants whose doctors are not on the network. It can also be used when there is a family member residing in another state such as a college student.
Q. What assistance does World Insurance offer an agent?
A. The Best and first sour of assistance is the World Insurance website. Agents should utilize their site for all information regarding their pending and existing business. Information such as current underwriting status, paid-to dates ona existing business, and policy details such as deductibles, effective dates, and premium modes are readily available on the website. Agents must be contracted with World Insurance and must complete the online registration process before accessing information. RT Health & Life is also available to assist the agent with any question or procedure.
